Instrument Panel part 2

Installed the flight inst, post lights, and my timer/clock.   The location of the timer is a spare hole with a blank The timer is held on with a magnet and I riveted on a piece of steel to hold it.   I may replace this with an ADI and move it around at a later point.  But for now this is a good place for the clock.

Here is a close up of the post light.  The post lights I got off of Ebay.  But I needed to modify them since I did not have a connector to hook up the ends. What I did was to trim back the threaded part and then solder on a wire and then put heat shrink.  I think this will work.

Here are some of the modules.  From left to right.  The solid state dimmer.  The crow bar and the low voltage indicator circuits I built from Aeroelectric design.

I put these in project boxes from Radio Shack.  I calibrated and tested everything and it all works fine.

After much planning I wired up the intercom.

Finally got all of the panel in.

Still have a lot of wiring behind.

Hooked up the battery and everything worked!!!  Here is the aux fuse panel

Had a little trouble with the flaps. Didn't have them wired correctly.  Took a little time to get it right.  But works great now.  Haven't tied up everything yet.  So lots of Spaghetti.

.

Here is the fuel pump

Routed it up along the side.

Here is the power connection for the GPS.  I decided to just put in a cigarette lighter rather than hard wiring.

I sure like this display.   Very readable.

Here are the trim relays all wired up.   I used a 15 pin Sub D

The trim circuit is actually kind of complicated.  It took a while to lay this out.

Hooked up the Com and turned it on.  Lots of wires.  I was expecting to have to trouble shoot it.  But it worked fine.  You can see the freq in the display.  Haven't hooked up the dimmer yet

I even tried the switches on the yoke and the small button that changes the presets.  Worked first time!

I spent some time trying to figure out how to hook this up.  I was glad I laid it out in Delta Cad.    This really helped.

Things are starting to come together.  Still a lot of spaghetti. Once I get the trim working I will tie it all down.

Here you see the avionics ground bus.  This is just a 25 pin Sub D and you just insert the pins.  This is from Aeroelectric.  It worked fine.  No feedback or noise in the head set yet.

Here are the wires below.  Starting to tie it off.

I also hooked up the Transponder and the EIS.

They worked first time also.

I added another hole for the EIS wires.  Boy there are a lot more wires that I originally thought.
